Influencia estética del espacio negativo en el corredor bucal en la sonrisa

Los corredores bucales esteticamente hablando deben estar ocupados por los dientes al sonreír, o al menos eso se esta vendiendo ultimamente en muchas técnicas y sistemas. Estéticamente juega un papel importante en nuestro plan de tratamiento y en los resultados que debemos ofrecer al paciente.

El artículo de hoy se llama Esthetic Influence of Negative Space in the Buccal Corridor during Smiling publicado por el Angle Orthodontics en el 2006. Dos ortodoncistas y dos laicos (de nuevo no pregunten…) analizaron 60 fotografías de 30 hombres y 30 mujeres entre 18 y 25 años de edad.

Reseña de arcos contemporaneos: sus propiedades y características

arcosmetalLa principal razón para compartir este artículo con uds es la siguiente, su autor es uno de mis favoritos, el Dr. Robert P. Kusy, y si algo se ha dedicado este hombre a hacer es investigar sobre las características de los arcos que usamos en ortodoncia.

El artículo se llama A review of contemporary archwires: their properties and characteristics y fue publicado por el Angle Orthodontist en el 97, y la siendo honestos es una verdadera joya respecto a información sobre los diferentes arcos de diferentes aleaciones que usamos en ortodoncia.

Analiza aleaciones de acero, níquel titanio, aleaciones de cromo cobalto, y aleaciones de beta titanio,  incluso incluye un pequeño glosario con varios términos los cuales son comunes de aplicar cuando se habla de este tipo de material. Efectividad de los lacebacks en la retracción de caninos

Una de las muchas cosas que aporto el sistema MBT en las mecánicas de tratamiento fue la popularización de los “lacebacks”, para la retracción de caninos. Incluso muchos ortodoncistas aunque no uses brackets MBT usan estos lacebacks también.

El día de hoy comparto con ustedes un artículo llamado “Effectiveness of Laceback Ligatures on Maxillary Canine Retraction” de la autoría de   Melih Y.
